This week I pop in on my good friend Lauren Rich-Lama Almador, the executive director of Underhaus, and the founder of the world’s first Lingerie Fashion Week. To set the stage, we are lounging in the more informal area in her office, and she has just sent her employees and interns home for the afternoon. However, it is really difficult to pull Lauren out of her character as the executive director and head of her company, yet I think we finally see a more candid side of her. I truly respect and look up to this empowered woman. Near the end, Lauren drops some of the best advice we’ve had on the podcast thus far, and I’m more than stoked to bring you guys this interview.
“When I first started out, I had a fear that everybody knew what they were doing, and I had no clue what I was doing… And what I have come to learn almost 10 years later is that no one knows what the fuck they’re doing… Don’t ever feel intimidated. Don’t ever feel like you’re coming in as the underdog. Your ideas are what people want to hear.”
